Welcome to an opportunity to experience the most important thing in life ... a relationship with God and His mission to Engage People with Jesus. We are honored by your interest in the ministry of this congregation and we want to assist you in your (re)discovery of the meaningful purpose God has prepared for you.
Please know that you are always welcome at Concordia. You do not have to be a member to participate in Concordia s ministry. We stand ready to share with you in every opportunity to worship, grow, care, and share. We truly want everyone, member or not, to feel wanted, very much loved within this faith family!
THE CHALLENGE
Committed to growing Christians who reproduce Christians, Concordia s ministry is designed to develop leaders in mission and ministry. Therefore, we want to show you how God s answers in the person of Jesus apply to what is unresolved in the lives of people. We invite you to experience the life-changing love of Jesus Christ as you learn about and do what Christians do for the salvation of all people.
THE CLASS
We have found that to effectively involve people in the life and mission of this church it is critical that individuals become acquainted with God s Word and Concordia s mission, have an opportunity to (re)discover their unique, God-given talents, and then be led into the opportunity to participate in rewarding ways.
This six-week process is designed to lead you to a (re)discovery of the answers to the following questions in a relevant and relational way:
- What is the Bible?
- What is the story of the Bible?
- How is the Bible s story important in life?
- How does the Bible make sense?
- How do I read the Bible?
- What does it mean to be Lutheran?
- Why is Concordia a Lutheran Church?
- How does God work through Baptism?
- What does God do in Holy Communion?
- What does it mean to be a part of Concordia s mission?
- What does stewardship teach me about time and money?
- How does God want to use everyone's unique talent and abilities?
Membership at Concordia requires the completion of this six-week Discovery process, the first step toward a committed relationship revolving around worshiping, growing, caring, and sharing. As you consider adopting Concordia's mission, the best way to become acquainted with our ministry is by experiencing it. This process is a complement to worship, not a substitute for it. Please note the following weekend worship and Sunday Bible class times as well as the activity information you can receive in our weekly and monthly publications. We are eager to discover and experience with you the valuable place you can have in our mission ... "Engaging People with Jesus"!
